about

In ufology, a close encounter is an event in which a person witnesses an unidentified flying object. This terminology and the system of classification behind it was started by astronomer and UFO researcher J. Allen Hynek, and was first suggested in his 1972 book The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry.

Extensions of Hynek's Scale

A Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind

A human is abducted by a UFO or its occupants.

This type was not included in Hynek's original close encounters scale.

Hynek's erstwhile associate, argued that a CE4 should be described as:

"cases when witnesses experienced a transformation of their sense of reality,"

so as to also include: non-abduction cases where absurd, hallucinatory or dreamlike events are associated with UFO encounters.

lyrics

When they came
There was no place to run
Was no place to hide
Then they chased
Us into the room
It was suicide

Someone help me
Escape this lie
I can't take it
This just ain't right
It's not what we thought
First contact would be like

It was dark
They peered into my eyes
As if from inside
In my mind
I can see their face
Not the human race

Someone help me
Escape this lie
I can't take it
This just ain't right
It's not what we thought
First contact would be like

No way out
Blood ran down the walls
Corpses in the halls
Say good night
To all of your dreams
Scared from the fright

Someone help me
Escape this lie
I can't take it
This just ain't right
It's not what we thought
First contact would be like
